Los Angeles, CA (CNS) - Jason Reitman is a die-hard hockey fan who, in addition to directing movies like "Juno," has directed commercials for the National Hockey League and has served on its entertainment advisory board. Now Reitman will turn his attention to blogging about his love of the sport on the NHL.com blog site.
A native Canadian, Reitman grew up in Los Angeles and only became a fan of the sport seven years ago. His favorite teams are the Vancouver Canucks and the Los Angeles Kings. Reitman told the NHL to call him if they ever needed any help and they responded by asking him to blog.
Reitman, 30, said he is depressed his favorite teams are not in the playoffs and will probably blog a mythical blog where they actually do make it to the finals.
Reitman is one of a dozen celebrities who will start blogging on Wednesday and follow their favorite teams through the Stanley Cup playoffs. Other celebrities who will blog include Lauren Conrad, Dierks Bentley and Kevin Smith.
This is the second year that stars from movies, music and television have brought their love of hockey to the blogosphere.
